Marker or tagged interfaces in Java are the interfaces with no method implementation in it. eg. Serializable or Cloneable interface. It is used to tag the implementing class based on purpose. They are used to add some functionality to classes or super classes using them. JVM understands the marker interface and takes care how to handle such classes using marker interface.
